Author of the book series "Arianpour's Progressive Culture" passes away

Manouchehr Arianpour Kashani, lexicographer, translator, and author of the Arianpour Bilingual Dictionary, passed away in the United States.

ISNA news agency reported that Mr. Arianpour passed away on Monday, January 26, at the age of 92.

Born in Kashan, he graduated from the United States and founded the "High School of Translation" in 1969. In the 1970s, he began compiling dictionaries that have been updated many times over the past five decades.

Arianpour's collection of progressive dictionaries includes seven volumes of English-Persian dictionaries, four volumes of Persian-English dictionaries, two extensive volumes, and one comprehensive volume.

He is also the author of books on English grammar and writing, a large one-volume Persian-English dictionary, Persian words in English, a dictionary of Indo-European roots of the Persian language, an English translation of "National Songs of Iran", etc.

According to ISNA, Manouchehr Arianpour donated all of the inherited property of the Arianpour Kashani family to the University of Kashan in 1999. The Iranian Book News Agency, IBNA, writes that the value of this property, which includes several residential units, a garden, land, and a higher education center, was estimated at more than 10 billion tomans at the time.

He also left the copyrights of his books to the university after his death.

After graduating, Mr. Arianpour taught at American universities.
