Sadegh Larijani's inability to respond to Mike Pompeo's revelations about his billion-dollar fortune

Ten days after US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's speech in which he referred to the corruption of the head of Iran's judiciary, Sadegh Larijani, in a public speech, only said that these remarks were "immoral" and seemed unable to respond.
Two weeks ago, on Sunday, July 11, Mike Pompeo, in a speech to Iranians living in the United States, referred to the wealth of clerics in Iran, saying, for example, look at Sadegh Larijani, the head of Iran’s judiciary. He has at least $300 million in wealth from embezzlement of treasury funds in his personal accounts. The Trump administration sanctioned Larijani in January for human rights abuses because we are not afraid to deal with the regime at its highest levels… Call me crazy, you wouldn’t be the first, but I have some doubts that a wealthy tycoon who is under international sanctions is the right person for Iran’s highest judicial office.
Mr. Larijani seems unable to respond to these explicit statements by the US Secretary of State. Sadegh Larijani has been silent since Mr. Pompeo's remarks, only alluding to these statements on Tuesday.
Without naming Mr. Pompeo, he said: "Some of the statements made by American leaders, including the completely false statements made by the US Secretary of State about my assets or some of the great religious authorities, are not only against legal and moral standards, but also, with a hint of regret, are not worthy of a politician. Many officials of countries, even if they do not have a religion, at least respect the dignity of the position they hold. US government officials have failed to respect this much, and this is very strange."
Since taking office, the Trump administration has not only criticized Iran's nuclear program and support for terrorism, but also pressured Iran on human rights. The US government, with the help of lawmakers, is also seeking to pass legislation to disclose the assets of Iranian leaders.
Ten days ago, Mike Pompeo also spoke of imitating Nasser Makarem Shirazi, a government official. He was able to make $100 million in profits from the illicit sugar trade and became known as the "Sultan of Sugar" in Iran.
The US Secretary of State also said about Ayatollah Khamenei that he is the head of the "Imam's Command Executive Headquarters", which is worth nearly $100 billion.
The Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran has emphasized the fight against corruption in recent years, but the cases of individuals associated with him have never been investigated.
During the embezzlement of three trillion NIS that was revealed in 2013, Mr. Khamenei complained about the revelations in the media and said that the issue should not be dragged out any further.
Two years ago, Tehran MP Mahmoud Sadeghi exposed Sadegh Larijani's personal accounts but was threatened with arrest and prosecution.
