Prince Reza Pahlavi's reaction to the US attack on Iran's nuclear sites

Prince Reza Pahlavi considered the US attack on Iran's nuclear sites to be the result of the Islamic Republic's disastrous adventurism.

The US attacks on the important nuclear sites of Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan last night resulted in the destruction of the sites. In response to the Israeli attacks and the US attack on Iran last night, Prince Reza Pahlavi stated that these attacks were the result of the disastrous pursuit of a nuclear weapons program by a regime that has sacrificed the interests of the Iranian people.

Referring to the situation of Ali Khamenei, who has been hiding in a bunker since the beginning of the attacks on Iran, he wrote: "Khamenei is considering response options from his underground bunker, but the real response must be resignation so that the Iranian nation can overcome this catastrophic period and begin a new chapter of peace, prosperity, and greatness. The only real way to achieve peace is to end this regime."

The Wall Street Journal also wrote in its report on the US attack on Iran's nuclear facilities: "The US attack on Iran's nuclear facilities has triggered a wave of regional diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation of the conflict."

Arab officials also reported that the United States had asked them to convey a message to Iran that the attacks were over and it was now time to return to the negotiating table.

Abbas Golro, head of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, also said after the US attack on Iran's nuclear facilities: "According to Article 10 of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, the Islamic Republic also has the legal right to withdraw from this treaty. The US attack is a clear violation of international obligations, and Iran can examine and implement legal and international options in response."

The Islamic Republic's Foreign Ministry also issued a statement describing the US attack on the nuclear facilities as a violation of the UN Charter and international law and the start of a dangerous war against Iran. The statement reads: "The world must not forget that it was the United States that betrayed diplomacy in the midst of a diplomatic process. Tehran has the legitimate right to defend itself with all its might and decisively against US military aggression and Israel's criminal actions."

In this statement, Tehran also called on the United Nations, the International Atomic Energy Agency, and the Security Council to quickly address this illegal and criminal act and convene an emergency meeting to condemn the attack.
