Iran's Health Minister: We have entered the seventh wave of Corona

As the number of people infected with the coronavirus in Iran increased again, the Minister of Health announced that we had entered the "seventh wave" of the disease.

On Thursday night, Bahram Einollahi called on citizens who have had their last vaccine dose for six months to get a booster shot and to pay more attention to observing health protocols.

These recommendations come after eight more patients with coronavirus died in Iran in the 24 hours ending at noon on Thursday, July 13, according to a report by the Ministry of Health.

During the same period, 5,234 new COVID-19 patients were identified in the country, and 645 of them were hospitalized.

These statistics are announced after a long period of significant decline in the number of infections and deaths from coronavirus.

Payam Tabarsi, head of the infectious disease department at Masih Daneshvari Hospital, also said, "Three weeks ago, the number of visits to the emergency room at Masih Daneshvari Hospital was 10 to 20 people per day, 50 percent of whom did not have coronavirus. However, in recent days, the number of outpatient visits to the hospital's emergency room has increased sixfold."

On Sunday, July 9, the Iranian Ministry of Health announced that the number of coronavirus cases in the country had reached double digits again after several months of the disease subsiding.
