Corona; Isfahan hospitals "are no longer able to accept traffic injuries"

The head of Isfahan's traffic police announced that with the rise of the coronavirus, hospitals in the province no longer have the capacity to accept traffic accident victims.

ISNA news agency reported on Tuesday, April 14, quoting Mohammad Reza Mohammadi, who urged citizens to "be careful not to impose additional pressure on medical centers by driving carelessly during the red status of the coronavirus outbreak in the province."

According to Mr. Mohammadi, given the "red and worrying" situation of the coronavirus outbreak, most of the capacity of the province's hospitals has been allocated to patients with COVID-19.

He also warned that if traffic accident victims go to hospitals, there is a possibility that the patient and his family may be infected with the coronavirus.

On Monday, a spokesperson for Isfahan University of Medical Sciences announced that the number of patients with coronavirus symptoms hospitalized in the province's hospitals had reached 2,027.

According to Arash Najimi in an interview with IRNA, "With the rapid acceleration of the number of coronavirus infections and hospitalizations in Isfahan province, the number of coronavirus patients hospitalized in hospitals doubled in a week, from about 1,000 to more than 2,000."

Currently, cases of infection and death from coronavirus in Iran have increased sharply once again, and all provinces of the country and medical centers are particularly concerned about patients infected with this virus.

Isfahan province, and especially the city of Isfahan, are attractive tourist areas in Iran, and many travelers traveled to this province during the Nowruz holiday.
