Corona in Iran: Record-breaking statistics and the “collapse of the Ministry of Health”

The latest coronavirus statistics in Iran indicate a new record number of deaths and daily cases of the virus. The Secretary-General of the Iranian Nursing Home has also spoken of the "collapse of the Ministry of Health."

Iran's Ministry of Health announced on Sunday, August 8, that 542 people had died from the coronavirus in the past 24 hours.

Also, according to statistics published by the Iranian Ministry of Health on Sunday, August 8, 39,619 new patients with COVID-19 were identified in the past 24 hours, which is a record-breaking statistic for daily infections with the virus.

Four thousand 102 of them have been hospitalized.

According to the Iranian Ministry of Health, the total number of coronavirus deaths has now reached 94,150.

According to official statistics, the total number of coronavirus patients in Iran has now reached four million, 158,729.

Currently, 336 cities in Iran are in red status, 84 cities are in orange status, and 28 cities are in yellow status.

Secretary General of Iran's Nursing Home: The Ministry of Health has collapsed

Mohammad Sharifi Moghadam, Secretary General of the Iranian Nursing Home, warned about the fifth wave of the coronavirus, saying: "The Ministry of Health has collapsed and our healthcare system has been left to its own devices when it comes to the coronavirus."

Explaining the coronavirus situation in Iran, this Iranian official told "Tojarat News" that the number of hospitalized cases is currently three times the capacity of hospitals.

The Secretary General of the Nursing Home has also reported a severe shortage of nurses in Iran, saying that there are currently less than one and a half nurses per thousand people in the country.

According to Sharifi Moghadam, the acceptable ceiling is that there should be 10 nurses per thousand people.
