Alireza Zali, commander of the coronavirus disease management operations headquarters in Tehran, says that in Tehran province alone, 5,600 patients with coronavirus are being treated in inpatient wards.

Yesterday, he announced that 14,000 patients had visited Tehran hospitals.

Meanwhile, leaving Tehran in any direction has been banned and subject to a fine of one million tomans, and many businesses and government offices have been closed.

This issue has been met with protests from guilds. The governor of Tehran also said that a closure at this level is "impossible."

As the fifth wave of coronavirus cases in Tehran and the number of deaths increased, Behesht Zahra went on alert for the fifth time in the past 17 months.

Saeed Khal, CEO of the Behesht Zahra Organization, referred to the "significant increase" in the number of deaths in Tehran and said that Behesht Zahra employees are working in two to three shifts.
