Discovery of New Historical City in Iran
According to FCN, shortly ago images and videos indicating the discovery of a historical city on the outskirts of Farouk city in Fars Province were suddenly circulated on social media, and consequently, despite documented and positive evidence and indicators of the matter, unfortunately social media outlets began to deny and refute it.
In this regard, the more media outlets denied it, the more local witnesses and residents released additional information.
In order to conceal the discovered artifacts and suppress the rumors, the commander of the police force in Fars Province, by announcing the arrest of those responsible for spreading false news about the discovery of the new city in widely-circulated newspapers, put an end to these rumors in a somewhat threatening manner.
It is worth noting that these measures did not silence the people of Farouk city, and with a massive gathering and groups in front of security personnel vehicles that were transporting ancient artifacts from the site in question, they declared their protest in this regard. The videos released in this context themselves speak to the matter and also reflect the great betrayal of Iran’s state and political institutions toward the people and Iran’s rich history.
