A US State Department spokesperson regarding the attack on Gohar Eshghi: We are deeply concerned

پس از انتشار اخبار حمله به مادر ستار بهشتی و انتشار تصاویر سر و صورت زخمی و باندپیچی‌شده او، یک سخنگوی وزارت خارجه ایالات متحده در پاسخ به پرسش صدای آمریکا، نسبت به «حمله به مدافعان حقوق بشر و خانواده‌های آنها» ابراز نگرانی کرد.

یک سخنگوی وزارت خارجه ایالات متحده در پاسخ کتبی به پرسش بخش فارسی صدای آمریکا در رابطه با حمله به گوهر عشقی و ضرب و جرح او، گفت: «از گزارش‌های مطبوعاتی در رابطه با حمله به گوهر عشقی، مادر ستار بهشتی، زمانی که او در مسیر رفتن به مزار پسرش بود،‌ مطلع هستیم.»

این سخنگوی وزارت خارجه آمریکا در ادامه با اشاره به تلاش حکومت جمهوری اسلامی ایران برای ساکت کردن مخالفان خود افزود: «ما مطمئناً شاهد الگوی گسترده‌تری از مواردی بوده‌ایم که در آن دولت ایران و کسانی که از جانب آن کار می‌کنند، برای ارعاب یا ساکت کردن کسانی که علیه رژیم صحبت می‌کنند، تلاش کرده‌اند.»

در پایان پاسخ این سخنگوی وزارت خارجه آمریکا آمده است: «ما همچنان عمیقا نگران گزارش‌های مربوط به حمله به مدافعان حقوق بشر و خانواده‌های آنها هستیم.»

On Friday, December 9, the Sattar Beheshti Foundation announced on its Instagram account, while publishing a picture of Ms. Eshghi, that an attempt was made on her life on December 9.

In a video posted on Saturday, December 10, just two days after the alleged assassination attempt on her, Gohar Eshghi said about the assassination attempt: "I was going to Imamzadeh, there were two people on a motorbike, one of them got off and pushed me onto the railings. Then I didn't understand where I was. I opened my eyes, regained consciousness and saw that I was in the hospital."

طی روزهای گذشته نیز گروهی از فعالان و برخی از کاربران شبکه‌های اجتماعی از جمله مسیح علینژاد روزنامه‌نگار مستقل و مجری برنامه تبلت صدای آمریکا و حامد اسماعیلیون، سخنگوی انجمن خانواده‌های جان‌باختگان پرواز ۷۵۲، نسبت به سوء‌قصد به جان گوهر عشقی واکنش نشان دادند.

شاهزاده رضا پهلوی نیز طی روزهای گذشته با انتشار توییتی به خبر حمله به مادر ستار بهشتی واکنش نشان داد و با انتشار تصویر خانم عشقی نوشت: «پیام این عکس گویا است: علی خامنه‌ای، رهبر تروریست‌های منطقه، از مادر دادخواه و استوار ستار می‌ترسد.»

The tweet continued: "An Iran is next to the gem of love."

In early November, on the eve of the anniversary of Sattar Beheshti's killing, Gohar Eshghi said in a video reviewing the events of the day her son was arrested: "Khamenei, sit in your son's shoes!"

It was then that security officials arrested him, along with his daughter and son-in-law, on November 12 to prevent them from holding a ceremony to mark the anniversary of Sattar Beheshti.

Ms. Eshghi also emphasized in an exclusive interview with Voice of America, in response to Masih Alinejad's question about their discussions during the meeting with the mothers of the plaintiffs: "We say do not remain silent until the Islamic Republic is destroyed and our youth are not killed."

He said, "My heart aches, not just for Sattar Beheshti but for all the young protesters who were killed," adding, "We are telling them not to remain silent and to be united."

Gohar Eshghi is an outspoken protestor of the Islamic Republic and Ayatollah Khamenei himself, and many consider him a symbol of resistance.
