An Iranian asylum seeker in Türkiye ended his life under the influence of economic and social pressures.

A young Iranian refugee named " Bardia Gharibi " hanged herself this morning, Saturday, February 6, 2021, who lived in the province of Isparta, one of the southwestern regions of Turkey. After enduring great suffering and being subjected to pressure related to the asylum process in Turkey, she ended her life by hanging herself.
Livelihood problems, psychological stress, severe depression, uncertainty in the asylum process, as well as social problems in dealing with Turkish society, are among the reasons cited as the cause of Bardia Gharibi's suicide.
It is worth noting that he had previously attempted suicide unsuccessfully three times, and all documents and evidence related to Mr. Gharibi's suicide and severe depression had been reported to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Ankara and the Assam Organization, but there was no change in his case status.
" Hasan (Bardia) Gharibi" was from Shiraz and was only 25 years old. He spent nearly 4 years waiting for an interview with the UN and the Turkish Migration Agency to make progress in the process of reviewing his asylum application, and during this time, he endured various pressures until he finally ended his life in self-imposed exile in the province of Sparta on the morning of Saturday, February 6, 2021.
