Ehsan Rovazhian’s Uncertain Status in Evin Prison

“Ehsan Rovazhian” continues to be held in custody with an uncertain legal status at Evin Prison after three months have passed.

The 34-year-old Ehsan, from Parand, was arrested by security forces on the 17th of Mordad while participating in a protest gathering in Malayer. After five days of interrogation, he was transferred to Hamadan, and three days later, he was transferred to Evin Prison.

According to an informed source, Ehsan Rovazhian, despite more than three months having passed, continues to be held with an uncertain legal status in Evin Prison. He has been accused of assembly, conspiracy, and membership in opposition groups against the system and is currently imprisoned.

It is worth noting that not only has he never been a member of any opposition groups or organizations, but during the interrogation process, no evidence has been presented regarding his membership in opposition groups. His only charge has been his presence at one of the protest gatherings seeking justice.

Before his arrest, Ehsan Rovazhian worked as a laborer. The Islamic Republic system continues to hold many rights-seeking protesters with an uncertain legal status in detention and prison, and without legal evidence, it accuses them of conspiracy and assembly against the system and issues heavy sentences for them.
