Four Christian Converts Sent to Ahvaz Prison

Hrana News Agency – Pastor Amin Khaki, Hossein Barun Zadeh (Daniel), Mohammad Bahrami, and Rahman (Zia), Evangelical Christian citizens from Ahvaz who were previously detained in 2014, reported themselves to Ahvaz Central Prison to serve their one-year imprisonment sentences.

According to Hrana News Agency, the news organization of human rights activists in Iran, Pastor Amin Khaki, Hossein Barun Zadeh (Daniel), Mohammad Bahrami, and Rahman (Zia), Evangelical Christian citizens from Ahvaz, were transferred to Karun Prison in Ahvaz, Ward 8 (Security Ward), after being arrested by security forces on Wednesday, May 7, 2014.

These citizens were released from prison on December 31, 2014, after posting bail. In June 2015, they were sentenced to one year of imprisonment by the primary session of the Ahvaz Revolutionary Court, Branch 2. This verdict was upheld identically on March 3, 2015, by the Court of Appeals, Branch 16 in Ahvaz.

This sentence was served on May 7 of the current year with a one-month deadline announced for them to report to the Revolutionary Court to serve their imprisonment sentence.

Counting nine months of pre-trial detention, the four Evangelical Christian citizens reported themselves to Ahvaz Central Prison about two weeks ago to serve the remaining three months of their one-year imprisonment sentence.
