Prince Reza Pahlavi: Bloody Friday of Zahedan Was Retaliation of an Anti-Iran Regime Against the Iranian People

Prince Reza Pahlavi wrote in a message regarding the anniversary of Zahedan’s Bloody Friday that it was the retaliation of an anti-Iran regime against the Iranian people.

On October 8, 1401 (September 30, 2022), following widespread protests in Baluchestan, many people were killed by the regime’s bullets, a day that became known as the “Bloody Friday” in Zahedan. The people of Baluchestan had prepared a call for the anniversary of Bloody Friday weeks in advance and asked all Iranians to stand with them on that day. People across the country also declared their support for Baluchestan, stating we stand with the Baluch people, and designated Friday October 7 and Saturday October 8 for protests to demonstrate their solidarity with the Baluch people.

Prince Reza Pahlavi also published a message on his personal page on the occasion of the anniversary of “Bloody Friday,” writing: “Zahedan’s Bloody Friday was the retaliation of an anti-Iran regime against the Iranian people. On the eighth of Mehr last year, Iran was summarized in Zahedan, and every single bullet fired at the heads and bodies of Iran’s most vulnerable children was a bullet aimed at Iran’s territorial integrity. It is no coincidence that the people of Zahedan and our Baluch compatriots throughout the past year have called upon Iran every Friday and have kept the torch of our national revolution burning until today. Without doubt, the principal order-giver and responsible party for this massacre is Ali Khamenei himself, and as Iran’s Sunni religious leaders have also stated, he cannot shirk this responsibility.

On the anniversary of the massacre of the brave people of Zahedan, I once again express my deep sympathy with the eternal families of those who lost their lives. These families and all those injured and harmed on that Bloody Friday should rest assured that this criminal case will be examined in a national court where maximum transparency prevails, and the commanders and perpetrators of the massacre of Iran’s children will face the necessary, lawful, and just punishment. This is a national and unbreakable promise.”
