Earthquake death toll in Türkiye and Syria reaches over 35,000

According to the latest statistics, the death toll in the earthquake in Türkiye and Syria since last week has reached more than 35,000.
The earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on Monday, February 6, at 6:00 a.m., has killed more than 35,000 people in a week, following numerous aftershocks.
The earthquake also activated many faults in other cities in Turkey. According to geologists' predictions today, February 13 and February 14, people should be alert because another earthquake is on the way.
Also, Professor Naci Gruer, a geologist and member of the Turkish Academy of Sciences, announced on a television channel: "More than 10 other regions in Turkey, including Erzincan, Bingel and Karlova and the North Anatolian Fault, are exposed to earthquakes above 6 on the Richter scale." According to his statements, due to the tension of recent earthquakes on the faults in the Marmara region, the Adana basin and the Iskenderun region should be taken into account. In addition, warnings have been issued for the southern regions of the Sea of Marmara, Çanakkale, Bursa, the Izmir Peninsula and its surroundings, the coasts of Antalya and Mugla.
Turkish geologist Professor Celal Şengür also announced the most resistant and vulnerable areas of Istanbul in a television program. South of the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge on the Anatolian side, Anatolian Castle, Ataşehir and north of Pendik are among the resistant areas of Istanbul, while Küçükçekmece and Beylikdüzü are among the vulnerable areas.
Due to the activation of many faults, the possibility of predicted earthquakes is very high. Therefore, warnings have been issued in all cities in Turkey, including those that felt the aftershocks.
It should be noted that Turkey has announced the closure of many centers, including schools, for another week until February 20th, and this closure is due to the forecast of upcoming earthquakes.
