US adds 14 individuals and 17 entities to Islamic Republic sanctions list

The United States Treasury Department added the names of 14 individuals and 17 entities to nuclear and missile sanctions on the Islamic Republic of Iran.
On Friday, April 2, the US Treasury Department's Office of Asset Control added these individuals and entities to the SDN sanctions list.
These sanctions continue US pressure to change the behavior of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
14 natural persons and 17 legal entities associated with the Defense Research and Innovation Organization were sanctioned for their involvement in the Islamic Republic's nuclear program.
Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, who was in charge of Iran's nuclear program until 2004, founded the Defense Research and Innovation Organization in 2011. Mohsen Fakhrizadeh is one of the main members of this organization. The Defense Research and Innovation Organization has about 1,500 employees. The organization was placed on the US sanctions list in 2014.
The US State Department statement said: "According to recently leaked documents, other aspects of Iran's nuclear program were addressed, but no answers have been provided so far."
US concerns over Islamic Republic's actions
The United States says the nuclear deal with Iran has not had a positive impact on the country's behavior. On May 8, 2018, President Trump announced the US withdrawal from the nuclear deal with Iran. President Trump ordered the reimposition of nuclear sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran on two occasions, in August and November of this year.
The United States says the Islamic Republic is the world's largest state sponsor of terrorism, continues its ballistic missile program in violation of Security Council Resolution 2231, and is a destabilizing factor in the Middle East.
In recent months, several plots by individuals affiliated with the Islamic Republic to assassinate political opponents in Europe were also discovered, leading to diplomatic action by France, Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands against the Iranian regime.
Iran's missile tests had previously met with reactions from Western countries, who had repeatedly called on the Islamic Republic to stop producing and testing these missiles.
In recent years, Iran has conducted missile tests, some of which were emblazoned with the slogan "Destruction of Israel" in various languages (including Hebrew).
On June 1, the US Secretary of State, announcing the new US strategy towards Iran, listed 12 US conditions for an agreement with the Islamic Republic, which are in fact a list of US demands from the Islamic Republic, or in other words, details of changing the Iranian regime's behavior.
Some of these conditions include stopping support for terrorism and refraining from destructive actions in the region, such as supporting Lebanon's Hezbollah and interfering in regional countries.
