Reuters has seen the latest report from the International Atomic Energy Agency on Iran, which shows that Iran has increased the number of advanced IR2 and IR4 centrifuges at its underground Natanz facility.
Iran has installed advanced centrifuges at its underground Natanz facility, according to a report by the International Atomic Energy Agency seen by Reuters. The agency said the Islamic Republic plans to expand the facility.
The International Atomic Energy Agency has confirmed the presence of 1,044 IR2 centrifuges and 384 IR4 centrifuges at the facility, compared to 696 for IR2 centrifuges and 174 for IR4 centrifuges in the agency's April 1 report.
Thus, Iran has once again violated the JCPOA nuclear agreement. This action was taken while negotiations between the P4+1 countries (Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany) and Iran are underway in Vienna. The goal of these negotiations, in which the United States is also indirectly present, is to return to the JCPOA.
The Islamic Republic says it will continue to expand its nuclear activities until all sanctions are lifted, but will halt these activities if sanctions are lifted.
