Nazanin Zaghari's wife expresses disappointment over the outcome of Bagheri's trip to London

Richard Ratcliffe, husband of Nazanin Zaghari, has said that Ali Bagheri's negotiations with a representative of the British Foreign Office have yielded no results. Richard Ratcliffe has gone on a hunger strike to pressure the British government to release his wife.

Ali Bagheri Kani, Deputy to Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Ebrahim Raisi government, has traveled to London to meet with a representative of the British Foreign Office.

On the eve of the seventh round of negotiations of the Joint Commission on the JCPOA in Vienna (December 29-November 29), Ali Bagheri traveled to Paris, Berlin, and London to meet and discuss with representatives of the European Troika.

Given the continued imprisonment of Nazanin Zaghari, a dual Iranian-British citizen, eyes were on Bagheri's trip to London. It was believed that the issue of Nazanin Zaghari's release would also be raised during the meeting between officials from the UK and the Islamic Republic.

On Thursday, November 11, the Associated Press published a report from London, addressing the statements of Richard Ratcliffe, husband of Nazanin Zaghari.

Richard Ratcliffe has now been on a sit-in and hunger strike for the 19th day in front of the British Foreign Office building in London.

Following Bagheri Kenny's meeting with British Foreign Office officials, James Cleverley, an advisor to British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, spoke with Richard Ratcliffe.

After speaking with Cleverley, Nazanin Zaghari's husband told the Associated Press that he believes Thursday's talks between Iranian and British officials did not yield much.

After meeting with Cleverley, he said: "It was a disappointing meeting, to be honest." Nazanin Zaghari's husband continued: "I was hoping that this meeting would bring some opening." Richard Ratcliffe was referring to his wife's case in Iran.

Ratcliffe has said he has no hope of making a difference in the case of his wife's continued imprisonment in Iran. However, he said he has promised his wife, his family, and especially his mother, that he will take care of his health and end his hunger strike in time.

Ratcliffe had previously stated that Boris Johnson's government and the country's new Foreign Secretary were not making the necessary efforts to release Nazanin Zaghari.
