National consensus for leadership of the transitional period; widespread support from tribes and Christians for Prince Reza Pahlavi

The widespread support of ethnic and religious groups, especially Christians, for Prince Reza Pahlavi has become a widespread demand for transitional leadership; from the Arab tribes of Khuzestan to hundreds of Iranian Christians, diverse voices are forming a national consensus.

While Iran's political atmosphere has entered a new phase following domestic crises and international pressures, various ethnic and religious groups inside and outside the country have declared their support for Reza Pahlavi to play a role in leading the transition period; support that is interpreted by political observers as a sign of the formation of a broad social coalition.

In the latest developments, Arab tribes in Khuzestan, including the Banu Ka'b and Banu Turuf, issued a joint statement officially declaring their support for Prince Reza Pahlavi. This announcement of support from two well-known Arab tribes in Khuzestan province is significant from the perspective of analysts, because Khuzestan, as one of Iran's strategic provinces, has always played an important role in the country's political and security equations.

At the same time, a group of 715 Iranian Christians also published an open letter expressing their support for Prince Reza Pahlavi to lead the transition of power. This action follows a wave of support that has been expressed in recent months by civil society activists, some academic figures, human rights activists, and parts of the Iranian community abroad.

Some observers believe that the support of ethnic and religious minorities for a political figure could indicate a search for a “common ground” to overcome the current situation; a point based on national unity, political secularism, and the reconstruction of governance structures. In recent years, Reza Pahlavi has repeatedly emphasized in his speeches and messages the “peaceful transition,” the “return to the people’s vote,” and the “formation of a transitional government based on the free choice of the people.”

The support declared by the Arab tribes of Khuzestan, as well as the Christian signatories of this letter, from a political perspective, indicates an attempt to cross ethnic and religious boundaries and focus on the concept of "national identity"; a concept that is introduced as the main axis of the transitional period in the discourse of the prince's supporters.

The full text of the letter from 715 Iranian Christians, published independently and without organizational affiliation, is reproduced below. It should be noted that the names of the signatories of this letter are kept by the Secretariat of Prince Reza Pahlavi.

A collective letter from Christians in support of Prince Reza Pahlavi:

"We, a group of Christians, declare our full support and endorsement of Prince Reza Pahlavi as the leader of the national uprising and the symbol of Iranian unity. At this historic juncture, we stand with the millions of our compatriots who took to the streets with unparalleled sacrifice and unity, shouting the prince's name, and we express our support for him to lead the transition period and for any responsibility that may be entrusted to him in the future by the majority of the Iranian people."

We believe, following the example of Jesus Christ, that a good leader is a servant of his people, not their ruler. In Prince Reza Pahlavi, we have observed a humble demeanor, unparalleled tolerance for critics, and a lack of thirst for power and position. His steadfastness, patience, and composure over the years are both a sign of inner strength and a testament to his deep love and unbreakable commitment to his country and people of Iran.

For these reasons, we consider Prince Reza Pahlavi a worthy leader and we extend a helping hand to him in this path. In our prayers, we always pray for peace, protection and blessings for him and his respected family, and we ask God and our heavenly Lord Jesus Christ to raise Prince Reza Pahlavi like Cyrus, to hold his hand, to open doors before him, to walk before him and to level the hills. (Taken from the book of Isaiah, chapter 45).

We bless Prince Pahlavi in his heavy responsibility of leadership and ask God to surround him with honest, truthful, and wise advisors and colleagues who love Iran and Iranians, and to always keep his heart humble.

"In addition to our prayers, we declare our readiness to cooperate with Prince Reza Pahlavi and his team to rebuild our beloved country and serve our fellow countrymen. The signatories of this letter have expressed their personal opinions independently, not on behalf of their related institutions."

With the spread of such statements, it seems that Iran's political space has entered a new stage of social forces' alignment; a stage in which different ethnicities, religions, and groups are trying to play an active role in determining the future course of the country.
