Trump supporters may hold "armed protests" in all 50 US states
The US Federal Police have announced that Trump supporters are planning to turn Joe Biden's inauguration into violence and chaos. The FBI said that violent forces are planning to protest in every state in the US, including Washington.
According to an internal FBI bulletin, US Federal Police agents have obtained information that Trump supporters are planning "armed protests" on January 20, coinciding with Biden's inauguration.
Citing this information, CNN news network said that Trump supporters plan to hold demonstrations in all US states, including in Washington and around the US Congress.
The information comes as US law enforcement agencies have increased their presence. The FBI expects the violence in the US on Wednesday (January 6) to continue in the coming days, especially on the day of Joe Biden's inauguration.
Five people were killed during the January 6th riots and the attack on the US Capitol by Trump supporters. Police have since identified and arrested a number of protesters who were involved in the riots.
The US Federal Police have announced that, based on information obtained, Trump supporters are planning to riot in all states between January 16 and 20.
An FBI intelligence bulletin considers the risk of violent protests near the US Capitol to be serious for January 17-20. It has been said that if Donald Trump is impeached, “armed protests” will take place.
Washington Mayor Mariel Bowser has asked residents of the city to avoid gatherings and traveling in the city on Inauguration Day (January 20) and to follow the inauguration digitally.
The mayor of Washington has expressed concern about the continued unrest in the city. "If there's one thing I fear, it's the danger to our democracy," Bowser said. "That's because there are extremist groups in this country that are both armed and dangerous."
