Bishop Vanya Sergiz: Modern man protects the world or has destroyed it

"Khori Bishop Vanya Sergiz" said at the meeting of the seat of Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ: Is modern man protecting the world or has he destroyed it?

Yesterday, a meeting entitled "The Place of the Virgin Mary" was held with the presence of Bishop Khoury Vanya Sargiz, responsible for the Assyrian Chaldean Catholic Caliphate, Yahya Jahangiri, head of the Culture and Communications Organization's representative office in Qom, and secretary Marzieh Minaeipour.

The meeting was held on the position of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ, in Islam and Christianity, and two Muslim and Christian speakers gave speeches on the subject. Bishop Vanya Sergiz said about the position of Mary: "Mary was someone who accepted her being a woman as a mission and was proud of her position. Even today, the best thing a believing woman can do is to consider Mary as her role model. If the women of our time had meditated on the life of Mary, the destruction of the world would have been prevented."

Referring to the creation of man in the Bible, he added: "God placed Adam in the Garden of Eden to protect it. Is modern man protecting the world or has he destroyed it? We have deviated from the divine mission to prosper the world. The destruction of the world is because women and men are not in the position that God has designated. Today, the imbalance in the roles of women and men has contributed to the destruction of the world."

Regarding the imbalance and correct standards of life, Bishop Vanya Sergiz added: "Today, the balance, while being different, has been disrupted, especially in Western countries, and no one is fulfilling their mission properly. We are witnessing unbridledness and there is no correct standard for life. Today, humanity must, like Mary, make the best use of the nature that God has gifted her to make the world beautiful and harmonious. Equality means that men and women complement each other. Just as they are different spiritually and physically, they must also accept this difference in society and each seeks to play their role properly."

At the end of his speech at the aforementioned meeting, he continued: "Mary is an example of a true believer. Every person who believes in God must, like her, submit to God's commands without question."
