Execution of Danial Kazemi Nejad on charges of murdering a Basij member

The death sentence of Danial Kazemi-Nejad was carried out in Kermanshah on charges of murdering a Basij member.

Daniyal Kazemi-Nejad, from the village of "Lor Shabad", was arrested on July 7, 1402, on charges of murdering "Sajjad Amiri", a Basij force member and member of the Revolutionary Guards, at the Qatur border in West Azerbaijan province, and after some time was sentenced to death by the Kermanshah Revolutionary Court.

Media outlets close to the Revolutionary Guards reported in June 1401 (A.H.) that Sajjad Amiri was killed during a security mission in Kermanshah, referring to him as a "martyr defending security."

According to the human rights organization "He Ngaw", IRGC forces attacked the village of Lor Shabad last year and, after an armed clash, summoned and arrested nearly 160 residents of the village.

On the morning of Sunday, July 21, Danial Kazemi-Nejad's death sentence was carried out in Kermanshah's Dieselabad prison without prior notice or the right to a final visit from his family. His funeral was held yesterday evening in his hometown under pressure from security agencies.

Danial Kazemi-Nejad's execution on charges of murdering a Basij member took place at a time when many Iranian citizens, including women, men, and children, were intentionally killed by security forces during nationwide protests or shot in the face and body at close range with shotgun pellets, causing their vision to be lost. Not only was no fair trial held for them, but many of them were sentenced to death, imprisonment, or other severe sentences on false grounds and without any evidence.
