Increase in the number of executions in the past ten days

The Iranian Human Rights Organization reported an increase in the number of executions in the past ten days.
Mahmoud Amiri-Moghaddam, director of the Iranian Human Rights Organization, stated in a report: "In the past ten days, the Islamic Republic has executed one person every six hours, without the international community reacting."
According to this report, the number of executions in recent days has reached at least 42 people. Among the executions mentioned are 22 Baloch citizens. Qezel Hesar Prison in Karaj had previously announced that death sentences would be carried out soon, following the execution of two prisoners who were in the prison on drug charges, this number reached 42.
The human rights organization has warned about the widespread executions taking place in Qezel Hesar Prison in Karaj and called on the international community to respond to the executions being carried out in Iran.
According to this organization, 194 prisoners have been executed in Iran since the beginning of 2023. It should be noted that the news of the execution of the death sentence of Iranian-Swedish citizen "Habib Asyoud" was also published this morning, Saturday, May 6. Habib Asyoud had previously been kidnapped from Turkey and transferred to Iran.
