Transfer of Nahid Taghavi, a dual citizen, from the IRGC Intelligence Detention Center to the Women's Ward of Evin Prison

Nahid Taghavi, a dual Iranian-German citizen, was transferred from the IRGC Intelligence Detention Center, known as Ward 2A, of Evin Prison to the women's ward of the prison today, Sunday, May 16. Ms. Taghavi was arrested on October 15, 2020, by IRGC intelligence officers and transferred from the IRGC Intelligence Detention Center to the women's ward of Evin Prison after 5 months. She was transferred again to the IRGC Intelligence Detention Center, known as Ward 2A, of the prison on April 16 of this year.
According to HRANA News Agency, the news agency of the Human Rights Activists in Iran, this evening, Sunday, May 16, 2021, Nahid Taghavi, a dual Iranian-German citizen, was transferred to the women's ward of Evin Prison.
This dual-citizen prisoner was transferred from the women's ward of Evin Prison to the IRGC Intelligence Detention Center, known as Ward 2A, on Monday, Farvardin 6, 1402, under the pretext of meeting with a doctor. According to a source familiar with Ms. Taghavi's condition, she has been held indefinitely in solitary confinement since her transfer to the security institution's detention center and has not been interrogated during this period.
The first court session to investigate the charges against Nahid Taghavi, along with five other political defendants, was held on Wednesday, May 26, at Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court. It is said that the second court session for this citizen, along with her five co-defendants, will be held in late June of this year.
HRANA first reported on October 19, 2020, in a report about the arrest of Ms. Taghavi at her home in Tehran by security forces on Friday night, October 15, 2020, and said that during the arrest, the officers searched the citizen's home and confiscated some of her personal belongings, including her laptop, cell phone, passports, and books, and took them away.
Ms. Taghavi was transferred from the IRGC Intelligence Detention Center to the women's ward on March 16, 2020, after completing her interrogation. Ms. Claren had previously said that her mother had been interrogated for 80 sessions, equivalent to 1,000 hours, since her arrest.
Judge Haji Moradi had previously told the family of the citizen that only lawyers trusted by the judiciary were allowed to access the case. He also added that Ms. Taghavi’s case would not be referred to court until “she admits to her accusations.”
Nahid Taghavi is a 66-year-old dual Iranian-German citizen and retired architect. Ms. Taghavi immigrated to Germany from Iran with her family in 2003 and has been commuting between Iran and Germany for the past 15 years.
