Transfer of "Nayeb Hajizadeh Yangjeh" to solitary confinement in Urmia Prison

"Nayeb Hajizadeh Yangjeh" was transferred to solitary confinement in Urmia Prison this morning as a punishment.

Nayeb Hajizadeh Yangjeh, a political prisoner, was arrested by security forces in August 2019 and sentenced to 10 years in prison on charges of membership in anti-regime groups, which was later reduced to 7 years and 6 months in prison.

In July 1402, due to the complaint of the prison warden following the protest of political prisoners and the beatings that took place, another case was opened against him, and he was sentenced to 3 months in prison and 50 lashes on the charge of "disturbing prison order." It should be noted that Hajizadeh has been serving his sentence in Urmia Prison for a long time without observing the principle of separation of crimes. This morning, Thursday, June 11, 1402, this political prisoner was transferred to solitary confinement in the aforementioned prison as a punishment.

The reason for this transfer was Nayeb Hajizadeh's protest against the failure to observe the principle of separation of crimes, as he is serving his sentence in Dormitory 1-2 alongside prisoners accused of murder.
