Re-interrogation of Christian citizen "Laleh Saati" and threats to her mother

"Lale Saati", a Christian citizen imprisoned in Evin Prison, was interrogated again, and her mother was also threatened for providing information.

According to the Human Rights in Iran website, Laleh Saati was transferred to Ward 209 of the Ministry of Intelligence 8 days ago and interrogated for a while by interrogators about the media coverage of her news, her connection to the other defendant in the case through her mother, and how Laleh Saati's news was published in the media.

Laleh Saati was arrested on February 14 of last year when security agents raided her father's house in Tehran. On March 16, Judge Iman Afshari, head of Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, tried her on charges of "acting against national security" due to Laleh's religious activities related to her presence in house churches after returning to Iran and the content of her mobile phone, such as (her baptism sheet and video in Malaysia) and images of her other activities in a church in Malaysia. Finally, on March 26 of this year, she was sentenced to two years in prison and a two-year ban on leaving the country on charges of "acting against national security through contact with Zionist Christian organizations."

According to the Human Rights Organization in Iran, Laleh Saati's mother had previously been threatened with legal action if she confirmed that news about her daughter had been published on hostile websites.

It should be noted that Ms. Saati was deprived of the right to choose a lawyer by the judiciary, following the application of Article 48 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, and her trial was conducted in the presence of a hired lawyer. Also, according to published reports, she was deprived of access to medical facilities and specialized examinations, which has exacerbated her concerns about her health.

Amnesty International also wrote in its report on the violation of the rights of Christian citizens: "The Islamic Republic government has deprived many prisoners of access to necessary health facilities." Article 18 has also repeatedly reported on the lack of access to medical facilities for imprisoned Christians, including Mina Khajoui.

In addition, many family members of Christian citizens who have no connection to home churches or the Christian faith have been repeatedly summoned to the Ministry of Intelligence, threatened, and interrogated, and this pressure on Christian family members is used as a tool to subjugate and pressure Christian citizens.
