Some other political activists and signatories of the statement calling for Khamenei's resignation were arrested.

A group of political activists who had gathered in front of the Mashhad Justice Department to protest the 13-year prison sentence for Kamal Jafari Yazdi, one of the signatories of Khamenei's resignation statement, were arrested by police and security forces.
Kamal Jafari Yazdi, who witnessed the arrest of more than ten of these protesters while appearing at the Revolutionary Court on Saturday, told Radio Farda: Fatemeh Sepehri, Pouran Nazemi, Hashem Khastar, and Mohammad Nourizad are among those arrested.
Mr. Jafari Yazdi was tried about five months ago on charges including "attempting to overthrow," "insulting the leadership," and "propaganda against the system" and sentenced to 13 years in prison.
Meanwhile, Reza Mehregan, another signatory of the letter demanding the resignation of Ayatollah Khamenei, has named on his Twitter account Huriyeh Farajzadeh, Javad Lal Mohammadi, Mohammad Hossein Sepehri, and Abdolrasoul Mortazavi as other individuals who have been arrested.
Some of these individuals are among the 14 signatories of the statement calling for Khamenei's resignation, some of whom had previously received death threats.
The US State Department says that the Iranian regime has arrested thousands of protesters, civil activists, and representatives of workers and other trade unions in the last two years.
In Iran, any criticism of the leader of the Islamic Republic is punished with severe punishment.
The treatment of the authors of the letter calling for Khamenei's resignation comes a few weeks after the letter was signed, while Reza Mehregan, one of its signatories, posted a video on social media announcing that he had been attacked and beaten with a taser by unknown individuals.
Previously, Javad Lalmohammadi, a member of the Mashhad Teachers' Union and one of the signatories of the letter, had announced that he had received threatening messages several times, and Mohammad Hossein Sepehri, another signatory, had released a video saying that a knife-wielding man had rung the doorbell of his house and that no officer had come to investigate after calling 110.
Also, Mohammad Nourizad, another signatory of the letter, was arrested on July 9 after going to the First Branch of the 33rd District Prosecutor's Office of Evin "to defend the charges in the case," but was released on bail.
