Several protest rallies of social security retirees held in various cities of Iran

Hundreds of retirees and social security pensioners held protest rallies in various cities in Iran on Sunday, March 5.

These retirees are protesting their living conditions, inflation, the implementation of equalization of their pensions, and the per capita deduction for medical expenses from their pensions.

According to videos posted on social media, these protest rallies were held in the cities of Tabriz, Rasht, Isfahan, Kerman, Ardabil, Kermanshah, Ahvaz, Qazvin, Arak, and Shush, among others.

"Expensiveness, inflation, a scourge on the lives of the people," "Our table is empty, your situation is excellent," and "Enough of oppression and oppression, our table is empty" were among the slogans chanted at these rallies.

"Implementing equalization is our inalienable right" and "We will not rest until we get our rights" were other slogans heard at these gatherings.

Reports indicate that police officers in some cities, including Gorgan, have clashed with protesters and arrested a number of them.

At the same time, a protest rally was held by a number of firefighters in Karaj.

Low wages, insurance status, housing problems, and the lack of hard work in their salaries are among the issues that these firefighters are protesting against.

Previously, on March 2nd, a group of firefighters held a protest rally in front of the Tehran Municipality building, demanding that their demands be addressed.

Over the past few months, various parts of Iran have been the scene of protest rallies by teachers, workers, retirees, and other segments of society.

These gatherings, which have often been held to protest the living conditions and rising inflation in Iran, have in some cases been met with repression and arrests of protesters by law enforcement and security officials.
