Benjamin Netanyahu: The Hebrew New Year is a turning point for the destruction of the Islamic Republic axis

On the eve of the Hebrew New Year, Benjamin Netanyahu described it as a turning point for destroying the Islamic Republic's axis and ensuring Israel's security.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on the eve of the Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashanah), announced during a meeting with the country's top military commanders that the coming year will be "decisive in the fight to destroy the Islamic Republic's axis."
The meeting was attended by IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir and Defense Minister Yisrael Katz. Netanyahu said at the meeting: "We are in a battle in which we have prevailed over our enemies and we must eliminate the Iranian axis. This is the mission that lies ahead of us and could mark a historic year for Israel's security."
He also emphasized that achieving Israel's goals will not be limited to the Gaza Strip, adding: "Our mission is not limited to Gaza; the complete destruction of Hamas, the release of hostages, and ensuring that this region no longer poses a threat to Israel are part of our goals. On other fronts, we must also pave the way for new opportunities for security, victory, and even peace."
The Israeli Prime Minister continued, addressing his country's military, saying: "Achieving these goals requires two fundamental principles: first, maintaining unity in difficult circumstances, and second, having a firm will in all circumstances."
In conclusion, referring to the beginning of the Hebrew New Year, he stated: "I hope this year will be a year of security, victory, and unity. Shana Tova (Happy New Year)." This year's Hebrew New Year will begin on the evening of Monday, September 31, and will continue until the evening of Wednesday, October 2.
Meanwhile, former Mossad chief Yossi Cohen predicted in an interview with CNN that the Islamic Republic would fall in less than a decade. "Given my long experience with the Islamic Republic, I believe that regime change is necessary; a necessity that is not only in the interest of the international community, but most of all in the interest of the Iranian people, who are demanding change within their own country," he said.
Cohen emphasized that today's Iranian society is either no longer religious or, if it has religious beliefs, is unwilling to live under the rule of an authoritarian regime. He also explained that Israel's targeted operations in Iran and Lebanon have been a combination of humanitarian efforts and new technologies.
According to him, the Islamic Republic spends huge amounts of money on institutions such as the Revolutionary Guard Corps, the Basij, and security organizations to survive. Cohen added: “The best opportunity to overthrow this government was after the 12-day war, and it came at a time when the Islamic Republic was at its weakest since its founding.”
