Bijan Abdolkarimi, a philosophy professor, was expelled from the university "for defending the Pahlavi monarchy."

According to some Iranian media reports, Bijan Abdolkarimi, an associate professor in the philosophy department of Islamic Azad University, North Tehran Branch, was expelled from the university for "defending" the "Pahlavi monarchy."
Some Iranian media outlets, including Mehr News Agency, announced that the university professor's dismissal order, which states in part that "the named person is not qualified to be a member of the academic faculty of Islamic Azad University," was served on him on Saturday, September 4.
According to the announced ruling, the dismissal of this philosophy professor, who is said to have been teaching at the university since 2001, is final.
Mehr News Agency removed the news of Bijan Abdolkarimi's dismissal from access an hour after it was published, but other news sites continued to publish it, citing Mehr News Agency.
