Reports and images published on social media indicate that farmers in Bavi County and green space workers in Hamidieh Municipality in Khuzestan Province have been gathering for several days.
According to these images, farmers in Bavi city gathered in front of the Ahvaz Water Network Operation Management Company on Monday, May 2nd, to protest the failure to allocate their rights.
At the same time, workers at the Hamidieh Green Space near Ahvaz also gathered for the second day to protest the non-payment of their arrears.
Dozens of Hamidieh Municipality green space workers gathered in front of the city's municipal building on Sunday to demand payment of their arrears. Following the rally, the governor of Hamidieh confirmed that the Hamidieh Municipality's green space contract workers have five months of arrears in salaries.
Although labor protests have existed sporadically in the country in previous years, they have become more intense since January of last year, following nationwide protests by the people.
Many workers who have faced serious livelihood problems have been forced to protest to get their wages, which in some cases has been met with violent confrontations by security forces.
