Agreement in a coma, differences remain over revival of the JCPOA

"Given the existing differences, reaching an agreement to revive the JCPOA is uncertain," the US State Department spokesperson said in a press conference on Thursday.
At the same time, the commander of the IRGC Navy in Tehran claimed that the Americans, by making proposals, including removing the IRGC's name from the list of terrorist groups, have asked the Islamic Republic not to take revenge for the killing of Qassem Soleimani, but the regime has strongly rejected these proposals.
Voice of America also reported that the United States said: "If Iran wants to lift non-JCPOA sanctions, it must address US concerns beyond the JCPOA."
According to the report, a US State Department official, who asked not to be named, warned that even if the JCPOA is returned, "the United States will maintain its powerful tools to counter the Islamic Republic's destabilizing activities and its support for terrorism and the IRGC's destructive activities, and will use them when necessary."
The Islamic Republic's Foreign Minister also said in a conversation with his Syrian counterpart: "The exchange of messages between us and the Americans is taking place through the European Union, and in this regard, we have repeatedly emphasized that the Islamic Republic will neither pay attention to excesses nor retreat from its red lines."
It is worth noting that the Islamic Republic has tied its return to the JCPOA to the lifting of sanctions on the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and at the same time, it is not ready to give any guarantees regarding the cessation of the IRGC's terrorist and subversive activities in the region.
Not long ago, Faezeh Hashemi Rafsanjani, daughter of Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, one of the founders of the Islamic Republic, spoke in a room at the Clubhouse, supporting the continuation of the sanctions against the Revolutionary Guard Corps, saying that the activities of the IRGC are expanding day by day, making it more difficult for this force to return to its barracks.
Stating that "the IRGC fires missiles and announces that it is our job," he considered the IRGC's performance to be detrimental to the country and said: "What the IRGC brings to Iranian society is negative and must stop somewhere."
According to Faezeh Hashemi Rafsanjani, the only remaining way to return the IRGC to the barracks is to continue the boycott of the IRGC.
