Tehran residents clash with Abfa officials over water cuts

A water outage lasting several days caused a clash between the people of Tehran and Abfa (Water and Sewage) officials.
It has been several days since the water outage in Greater Tehran, and on Monday, June 12, the Tehran Water and Sewage Company announced that the cause of the water shortage was a drop in pressure in some neighborhoods of the city in recent days, claiming that the problem would be resolved in a few hours. However, contrary to Abfa's claims, not only was the problem not resolved, but more areas also experienced water outages.
Videos posted on social media show water outages lasting 4 days in various areas of Tehran, with water tankers distributing water to people in some areas.
People in various areas, including Motahari Street, Sattar Khan, Vanak, and many other areas, are complaining about frequent or prolonged water outages. Citizens in these areas said they have contacted the city's water and wastewater department and the company's emergency hotlines, but have not received any response so far.
The Tehran Provincial Water and Wastewater Company announced in a statement yesterday: "Due to heavy rain, flooding, and widespread landslides and landslides near Chalus Road, the water transfer route from Amir Kabir Dam to Tehran's water supply facility was blocked on the Karaj Riverbed. Following this incident, operational teams immediately arrived in the area with equipment and machinery, and operations to unblock the swampy riverbed began."
The excuse is the blocking of the river and the water supply from the Karaj Dam, while only some areas are experiencing water shortages and not all areas. The protest of the people of Tehran is also because if the problem is the Karaj Dam, then what is the reason for the existence of water in other areas and the water shortage in other areas?
The incompetence of the authorities and their lack of attention in the hot weather of Tehran have left the people of the aforementioned areas without water, and accurate information about water connections has not been provided to the people.
