Iranian army fighter jet crashes in Tabriz

Iranian media reported that an F-5 fighter jet "crashed inside the Shahid Alipour Sports Hall located on Monjem Boulevard" in the city of Tabriz.
The plane had taken off from the second Shahid Fakuri fighter base belonging to the Islamic Republic Army, and the cause of its crash is still unknown.
So far, three people have been confirmed dead, including two passengers on the plane (Sadegh Fallahi and Alireza Hanifezad) and the driver of the car that the plane hit.
The CEO of the Red Crescent Society said that the plane also hit the wall of a school after it crashed, but "fortunately the school was closed."
He also said: "The pilot probably did not eject because the plane was crashing in a residential area and sacrificed his life."
Reza Yousefi, commander of Tabriz's Shahid Fakuri Air Base, told the Young Journalists' Club that the plane had "technical problems" and the pilot intended to land at the stadium, but because the stadium was narrow, it went out of bounds and hit nearby buildings.
