Attack on Neda Naji, one of the Labor Day detainees in Qarchak Prison

Neda Naji, a civil activist who was arrested on International Labor Day and is being held in Qarchak Women's Prison, has been attacked twice in the past 24 hours.

Jamal Ameli, Mrs. Naji's husband, announced on Twitter on Saturday, July 6, that the civil activist had been beaten once by a prisoner and once by prison staff and had been taken to the hospital.

According to him, Neda Naji has suffered vision problems as a result of these attacks and the blows to her head.

Among the women arrested during the Labor Day protests are Neda Naji, Marzieh Amiri, and Atefeh Rangriz, who have been in Qarchak and Evin prisons for nearly 50 days.

The murder of Alireza Shirmohammad Ali, a political prisoner in Fashafoyeh Prison, by two inmates accused of the murder has fueled concerns about the safety and well-being of political prisoners in Iran.
