Grenade attack by "unknown individuals" on the father's house of the whistleblower of "rape of women in Sardasht"

"Unknown individuals" attacked the paternal home of a women's rights activist with a grenade on Thursday morning, October 21, in Sardasht.
According to Hengaw, a human rights website that covers news from Kurdish-populated areas, the attack on Naske Afkhami's father's house was carried out following the disclosure of the names of a number of members of a "multiple gang raping women and girls" in Sardasht.
Last week, a number of civil society activists in Sardasht, along with several Instagram pages active in the field of women's rights, reported the "rape of a gang of several people" against women and girls in this city of Sardasht.
A source familiar with the attack on Thursday morning told Hengaw that the "unprecedented attack" caused extensive material damage to Ms. Afkhami's parents' home, causing fear and terror for her elderly parents.
A close relative of the Afkhami family told the Hengaw reporter that "an unknown person contacted Naske's sister today and asked her to pressure Naske into revealing the identities of the people who sent him information related to the aforementioned gang."
According to this report, Ms. Afkhami, an activist for women's and sexual minority rights, has been residing in Switzerland for many years.
Iranian law enforcement and judicial authorities have not yet reacted to this news.
