The family of Saeideh Khazoui, a Baha'i citizen, demanded clarification of her situation in prison.

The family of Saeideh Khozoui, a Baha'i citizen, wrote to Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei, the head of Iran's judiciary, demanding clarification on their daughter's situation in prison.

In their second letter to Mohseni Ejei, referring to the arrest of Saeideh Khazoui on April 12 of this year, the Khazoui family asked that they have repeatedly asked the judiciary staff about the reason for her arrest and where she is being held, but they do not answer these questions and tell her not to follow up on her arrest and the conditions of her detention.

The letter goes on to say that the reason for the pressure on the Huzoui family is solely because of their belief in the Baha'i faith, adding, "According to the officials of the Islamic Republic, being a Baha'i is not a crime when they are abroad, but inside the country it is viewed differently."

Saeideh Khozoui, who was summoned to Evin Prosecutor's Office in late April to defend her charges, was arrested.

Arsalan Yazdani, the son of Ms. Khazoui, and his wife, Samira Ebrahimi, were previously temporarily detained. Ms. Khazoui's charges have not been announced, but charges such as "propaganda against the regime" and "gathering and colluding against national security" were raised in the case of her son and daughter-in-law.

The Baha'i International Community has repeatedly emphasized that the security charges leveled against Baha'i citizens in Iran are completely "baseless" and that the only reason for the arrest of Baha'is by the Islamic Republic's security agencies is their religious beliefs and activities.
