Families of those arrested on International Labor Day approached the parliament

A group of families of those arrested on International Labor Day approached the Islamic Consultative Assembly, holding photos of the arrested individuals, and demanded their release.

According to the Free Workers Union Telegram channel, on Tuesday, May 14, a group of families of those arrested on International Workers' Day who are still in detention approached the Islamic Consultative Assembly, holding photos of their detainees and signing a letter protesting the continued detention of the detainees, demanding that the parliament members follow up and release the detainees.

According to this report, the families of the detainees have announced that they will hold a rally in front of the parliament if their loved ones are not released soon.

The Free Workers Union report states that the protest letter of the protesting families was registered with the Cultural Commission of the Parliament, and the Article 90 Commission of the Parliament promised that these families would soon be able to meet with the head of the Article 90 Commission and that the issue of the detainees would be followed up by the representatives of the Parliament.

Nearly two weeks after International Workers' Day, a group of citizens and activists who were arrested during protest rallies are still languishing in Evin, Qarchak, and Greater Tehran (Fashafoyeh) prisons.

The workers' union, while condemning the arrest of all those arrested on International Workers' Day and Teachers' Day, has called for the unconditional release of all detainees.

Following these arrests, the US State Department's Persian Twitter account criticized the arrest of Iranian labor activists on International Labor Day in a message.

The US State Department has said that the Islamic Republic regime could have paid the salaries of workers in Iran with the money it has spent in Syria.

Earlier, Amnesty International issued a statement on International Workers' Day calling on the authorities of the Islamic Republic to immediately release workers and civil society activists who were arrested during strikes and other peaceful protests.
