Previously, the Voice of America had published a short video of protesters protesting Türkiye's attack on northern Syria in the city of Kermanshah on its Twitter page.

On Wednesday, October 8, the Turkish army began its military operation inside Syria against the Kurds, who Ankara says are collaborating with the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) forces.

Turkey considers PKK members a terrorist group and says that this operation is aimed at countering terrorism and creating a safe buffer zone along the two countries' common borders.

On Tuesday, October 13, Reuters news agency, citing a statement from Syrian Kurdish officials, wrote that more than 275,000 people have been displaced following Turkey's attack on northeastern Syria, including more than 70,000 children.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo also called on Turkey to immediately stop its attacks in Syria and return to the negotiating table, referring to the sanctions imposed on two ministries and three ministers.

The United States opposed the Turkish military operation from the beginning, warning of its dire humanitarian and security consequences.
