Domestic violence: Murder of a woman by her husband in Tehran

On Wednesday, April 24, a young woman was murdered by her husband in Tehran following a family dispute.

According to HRANA news agency, citing Rokna, on Wednesday, April 24, 1402, a woman in Tehran was murdered by her husband.

Her identity has been identified as Narges Soraya Khatir, 32 years old, originally from Gorgan city.

According to this report, the investigation into this case began on the morning of April 24 of this year with the discovery of a woman's body on the Azadegan Highway.

Narges' body was discovered by a cleaner, and hours later her family identified the body and confirmed her identity. Given the victim's history of conflict and family disputes with her husband, the deceased woman's family suspected her husband.

The victim's brother said in this regard: "Two nights ago, the same night my sister was murdered, I spoke to her. We are from Gorgan and my sister told me she wanted to come to our house, but there was no news of her again."

The victim's brother continued: "My sister's husband, whose name is Bahman, had fled to Khuzestan after the murder, but was eventually arrested and confessed to killing my sister. We are currently at the Kahrizak forensic medicine office to receive my sister's body. Narges' husband first hit her on the head with a hard object and then strangled her, then moved her body wrapped in nylon and a blanket from their home in Kahrizak to the Azadegan Highway."

Regarding the defendant's motive, the victim's brother said: "I don't know what my sister's husband's main motive was for the murder, but Narges had serious disagreements with Bahman before this."

He also added: "Narges had told my other sisters that her husband once tried to cut off her tongue. They had a disagreement over financial matters. Narges' husband had his eye on my sister's money. He had taken her car and was using it to transport passengers."

The victim's brother continued: "Apparently, on the night of the incident, Narges wanted to come to Gorgan in her own car, but her husband wouldn't give her the keys to the car. I think they had an argument over this issue, which resulted in my sister's death."
