At least four people were killed in a clash between IRGC forces and several gunmen in West Azerbaijan.
Some news sources in Iran have reported clashes and shooting between Revolutionary Guard forces and attackers in West Azerbaijan.
Iranian state media reported that IRGC forces clashed with them “pursuing a terrorist team,” killing two of the base’s soldiers and two of the attackers. The Hamzeh base is affiliated with the IRGC’s ground forces.
While the Islamic Republic's media has called these attackers "counter-revolutionaries affiliated with global arrogance," the identities of the attackers have not yet been determined.
Earlier, the Kurdistan Democratic Party, an opposition group to the Islamic Republic of Iran, reported that IRGC forces had attacked and shot Kurdish kolbars on the border heights between Piranshahr and Choman. It is not yet clear whether the clash is related to the clash in Chaldoran on Tuesday night.
According to this report, a group of Kurdish Peshmerga in that area clashed with the IRGC forces after learning of the shooting of the kolbars, which ultimately led to the IRGC agents shelling the heights of Iraqi Kurdistan on the border of "Chouman and Barda Soran".
