Mortgages and house rentals in Tehran, a market that burns

While all essential items of life in Iran have become more expensive than ever in the new year, one of the most essential human needs, namely shelter, has become an incurable problem for tenants in Iran, especially in the capital.

According to domestic media reports, the growth rate of rents for 70 to 90 square meter houses in Tehran has been higher than other houses, so that to rent units of this size in different neighborhoods and areas of the capital, a deposit of between 120 and 700 million tomans and a rent of between 3 and 20 million is required.

Khabar Online reported that the owner of an 83-meter unit in Azgol, north of Tehran, has requested a deposit of 500 million tomans and a monthly rent of 20 million tomans for his property.

Also, in Aryashahr, west of Tehran, an 88-meter unit can be mortgaged and rented for 13 million tomans per month and a deposit of 250 million. The lowest rent for 70-90-meter houses in this report belongs to an 84-meter apartment on Piroozi Street in south Tehran, which must be paid 1.7 million tomans per month with a deposit of 550 million.

This is despite the fact that the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic has announced in a circular that it will block bank accounts with annual transactions exceeding 500 million Tomans.
