A 5.7 magnitude earthquake shook Khuzestan and Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari

Following the occurrence of four earthquakes between the two cities of Qale Khajeh in Khuzestan and Chelgerd in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, more than 20 villages in the area were damaged.

Khosrow Kiani, Director General of Crisis Management of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, said in an interview with ILNA News Agency: "Given that the region is nomadic and rural and the dispersion of villages in that region is high, a population of about 10,000 people in 35 villages was affected by the earthquake."

According to reports, some cars, houses, and units under construction in Kohrang were also damaged, and more than 8 people were injured in the city. No human casualties have been reported so far.

The Director General of Khuzestan's Crisis Management Department has announced that all governorates, relief and operational forces throughout Khuzestan are on alert following this earthquake.
