Three people in Iran have died from Crimean-Congo fever.

The head of the Ministry of Health's Center for Communicable Disease Management says that so far three people in Iran have died from Crimean-Congo fever.

According to Mehr News Agency, Mohammad Mehdi Goya said that two of the victims died in Kermanshah and Bandar Abbas. According to him, 31 people have been infected with the disease so far, and most of the infected people live on Iran's eastern and western borders.

However, according to IRNA, Mr. Goya said that cases of Crimean-Congo fever have been fewer this year than last year.

Abbas Abbasi, Director General of the Public Health and Food Supervision Office of the Iranian Veterinary Organization, also called on people to buy meat from authorized stores with a veterinary seal.

Crimean-Congo fever has flu-like symptoms with the possibility of bleeding from a part of the body. The disease can be transmitted from animals to humans. Crimean-Congo fever was first seen in Iran in 1999.
