Families chant "Death to the IRGC" and "Death to the Islamic Republic" during the second Ukrainian plane trial

As the second trial of the suspects in the downing of the Ukrainian passenger plane was being held, a number of families of those killed in the flight, appearing in front of the Tehran Military Court, staged a protest march and gathering amidst the siege of law enforcement and security forces, demanding the trial of the perpetrators and main commanders of this crime.

In addition to holding photos of the victims of the Ukrainian flight, these families held placards that read, "It is our inalienable and legal right to study the case file before proceeding."

Also, according to videos published on social media, the protesting families chanted slogans such as "Truth-Justice," "Death to Hajizadeh," "Death to Salami," "Death to Shamkhani," "Death to Bagheri," "Death to the Revolutionary Guard," and "Death to the Islamic Republic."

On December 23, the Association of Families of the Victims of Flight PS 752 released an analytical report on the downing of the plane by the IRGC missiles, emphasizing that the Ukrainian passenger plane, contrary to Iranian officials' claims, was not shot down due to "human error" by an operator or multiple errors in the missile defense system, and that responsibility is not limited to a few low-ranking members of the IRGC; because based on the available evidence, the Islamic Republic must provide evidence to prove that it did not intentionally shoot down the plane.

The report also states that the Iranian government, at the highest levels of military alert, used the country's airspace as a human shield against possible US attacks by keeping passenger flights open.

For several days, Islamic Republic officials blamed the plane's downing on a technical fault. But at the same time, the United States specifically announced that the plane had been shot down. After several days, the Revolutionary Guards finally admitted that they had mistakenly targeted the plane.

Domestic media outlets have not yet published a report on the second court session to investigate the downing of the passenger plane and the protest rally by the families of the victims of the Ukrainian flight in front of the Tehran Military Court.
