Saleh Mirhashemi: I wish I had lit a firecracker

Saleh Mirhashemi said in a phone call to his mother: "I wish I had lit a firecracker."

Karate instructor Saleh Mirhashemi, who was arrested along with a number of others during the protests in the so-called "Isfahan House" case on charges of murdering three government officials, was introduced as the first defendant and sentenced to 10 years in prison and death by the Isfahan Revolutionary Court.

He spent 45 days in solitary confinement and was tortured to extract a forced confession. It is worth noting that despite all the torture and pressure, Saleh Mirhashemi has not admitted to the charge of shooting at the officers.

Now, an audio file of a phone call between Saleh Mirhashemi and his mother has been published on social media, in which he emphasizes his innocence.

Saleh Mirhashemi says in this conversation: "I didn't have a gun, I wish I had lit a firecracker. I felt sorry for the cars with women and children inside them, and I was passing them by."

The full audio file of Saleh Mir-Hashemi can be heard below.

Unfortunately, the Islamic Republic continues to look for necks for its nooses, to hide its fear and weakness in front of the people by arresting innocent people and torturing and murdering them.
