Nearly 350 university professors in the country have published an open letter addressed to President Hassan Rouhani of the Islamic Republic of Iran, praising his “strategic policies” on the nuclear issue, while at the same time criticizing “some institutions” that, while not being allowed to interfere in politics, “have openly taken a position that is in opposition to the will of the nation.”
According to FCNN, the authors of the letter expressed their displeasure over the fact that some IRGC commanders have called nuclear agreements with major world countries "self-deprecating" and described this as a step against the national will.
The signatories of this letter also claimed that the decisive vote of the "understanding nation of Iran" for the Hope list across the country meant support for this policy and "continuation of this path."
These university professors have described nuclear negotiations as a “historical rational model for the peaceful resolution of disputes in international relations” that was intended to “neutralize many dangerous threats.”
This open letter calls on all forces in the system to pave the way for the government's further successes in the domestic and foreign spheres.
They have called on “the country’s political elite” to resort to a “comprehensive national dialogue.” In the opinion of the authors of this letter, expanding the space for national dialogue, trust in social capital, and ultimately expanding social participation will lead to increased national wealth and economic stability.
Referring to the "crises and disputes of recent years," the signatories of this letter claim that overcoming this stage requires national reconciliation, expanding the space for national dialogue, and valuing the people's votes and opinions.
