Tom Cotton's plan to rename the West Bank after biblical Jewish names

Tom Cotton proposed a plan to rename the West Bank to the biblical Jewish names.
Tom Cotton, a U.S. senator from Arkansas, issued a statement and introduced legislation requiring that U.S. officials from now on use the term "Judea and Samaria" to describe the region in official U.S. government documents instead of using the term "West Bank," which Cotton believes is the historically accurate term.
Tom Cotton stated: “The legal and historical right of the Jewish people to Judea and Samaria goes back thousands of years. The United States should stop using the political term West Bank to refer to the (biblical) center of Israel.”
Tom Cotton's remarks came at a time when the region is considered Palestinian territory according to UN resolutions. In addition, Hebrew media reported that Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has called for the abolition of the civil administration in the West Bank and the annexation of the region to the occupiers of Jerusalem.
