The military procurement plan was removed from the 2014 budget bill.

A day after the 2014 Budget Bill Consolidation Commission approved military procurement worth 250 to 600 million Tomans, the commission's spokesperson announced the cancellation and removal of the military procurement resolution.

Hossein Bamiri, a member of the commission, told IRNA that the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces has sent a letter to the parliament stating that it opposes the implementation of this plan.

According to yesterday's resolution of the commission, holders of associate degrees and lower were supposed to be able to purchase military service and be exempted from it by paying 250 million tomans, bachelor's and master's degrees by paying 400 million tomans, and holders of general medical degrees and specialized doctorates and higher in all fields by paying 600 million tomans.

This resolution has attracted many negative reactions from social media users, with many claiming that it only benefits the wealthy classes of society.

According to Rahim Zare, spokesman for the Consolidation Commission, instead of purchasing military service, it has been approved that eligible married soldiers over the age of 30 with two children will receive a free military service exemption card.

In recent years, the Iranian government and parliament have enacted numerous laws to encourage people to marry and have children, and this law has also been approved by the Consolidation Commission in this regard.
