Iranian actor Aref Lorestani passes away

Iranian film and television actor Aref Lorestani passed away on Saturday, April 16.
The news of Mr. Lorestani's death was announced on his Instagram page by a number of Iranian film actors, including Parviz Parastoei, and the cause of his death was a heart attack.
Cinema and television writer Khashayar Alvand told Khabar Online News Agency about the cause of his death: "Arif went to the hospital last night with his wife due to prolonged hiccups. There he was injected with two ampoules. After that, he went home and slept, but unfortunately he had a stroke in his sleep."
He added that Mr. Lorestani had no history of illness, was an athlete, and did not smoke.
Aref Lorestani, 45, was born in Kermanshah. He had acted in comedy series such as "Kahveh Tallkh", "My Villa", "Dar Haseef", "Kocheh Pearlid", "Shokhi Kardam", "My Villa" and "Man of Two Thousand Faces" and had acted in several movies including "Sham Arousi", "Enteb", "Madaleh" and "Mani and Neda". The role of Balad al-Molk (head of Nazmiyeh) in the series "Kahveh Tallkh" was among Mr. Lorestani's most successful and popular works.
Following his death, news broke that his wife had criticized the hospital he was treated at and that he had committed medical malpractice, prompting a response from Reza Paydar, vice president of the Iran University of Medical Sciences. He said that the investigation into the artist's death was ongoing, but that the initial investigation found no documented evidence of medical malpractice. The Medical System Organization also considered the claim of medical malpractice without evidence to be a crime.
