Saudi Arabia: Iranian boats are trespassing into our waters

Saudi Arabia filed a complaint with the United Nations over what it describes as the trespassing of Iranian boats into its territorial waters.
A news agency of the United Arab Emirates reported, citing Saudi officials, that Iranian boats are continuously encroaching upon the maritime territorial waters and sea borders surrounding Saudi oil fields in the Persian Gulf, which the two countries agreed upon in October.
Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to the United Nations says Iran will be responsible for any potential consequences resulting from such actions.
Hassan Rouhani, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, threatened last week that if other countries were to refrain from buying Iranian oil under American pressure, Tehran would disrupt the passage of oil shipments from neighboring countries through the Strait of Hormuz.
Analysts, however, say it is unlikely that Iran would take such action, and these threats are more for domestic consumption.
